Curriculum Overview

The Curriculum at Birla Open Minds International School is designed to provide holistic, age-appropriate and future-ready education. It focuses not only on academics but also on skills, values, creativity, and overall personality development.

Early Years (Pre-Nursery to Kindergarten 2)

In the Early Years (Pre-Nursery to Kindergarten 2), the focus is on foundational learning and overall development through play-based and activity-based methods. The theme-based integrated curriculum helps in developing motor skills, communication abilities, social skills, and emotional and cognitive growth. Children learn through circle time, learning centers, outdoor activities, creative art and storytelling, ensuring joyful learning and strong early foundations.

Primary Years (Grades 1–4)

In the Primary Years (Grades 1–4), students gradually move towards structured academic learning. The curriculum emphasizes communication skills, problem-solving ability, critical thinking, collaboration and leadership. Core subjects include English, Hindi, a third language, Mathematics, Environmental Studies and ICT. Along with academics, co-scholastic development is encouraged through arts and music, physical education and yoga, the SPEED sports program, and Soul Science.

Middle School (Grades 5–8)

During Middle School (Grades 5–8), the curriculum focuses on concept clarity and real-life application of knowledge. Students develop logical reasoning, analytical thinking, research skills and project-based learning abilities. Core subjects include English, Hindi, third language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and ICT. Students also actively participate in community service, life skills training, arts and sports activities to ensure balanced growth and preparation for higher academic challenges.

High School (Grades 9–12)

In High School (Grades 9–12), the curriculum prepares students for board examinations and future careers. Students may follow CBSE, ICSE/ISC, IGCSE, Cambridge or IB programs where applicable. The focus is on career guidance and counseling, STEM and robotics, critical thinking, competitive exam preparation and global exposure. The overall objective of the BOMIS curriculum is to ensure academic excellence, skill development, value-based education, digital learning integration and global competency, shaping confident, skilled and responsible global citizens ready for the future.
